Stretch marks are a common aftermath of pregnancy. It’s important to lubricate your body daily to help prevent them. This is especially important the last three months of pregnancy so your skin will be supple and stretch during delivery. You’ll want to apply this Pregnant Belly Butter to the perineal area, belly, hips, thighs, and breasts, which are all areas where stretch marks can occur. Here’s how to make it:
Pregnant Belly Butter
2 cups (475 ml) olive oil or coconut oil
1/2 ounce (15 g) calendula flowers
1/2 ounce (15 g) comfrey leaves
1 tablespoon (15 ml) vitamin E oil
5 drops essential oil of lavender
In a dry, clean glass jar, place the crushed herbs and oil. Allow to steep for two weeks. Strain through a clean dry cotton cloth while squeezing the oil out of the herbs. Discard the herbs. Stir in the vitamin E and lavender oil. Bottle. Apply to areas prone to stretching at least twice daily.
